Be a Duck: How We Provide Smooth and Seamless Transactions for Our Clients

One of the most common comments we get at the end of a deal: “was that just the easiest transaction you’ve ever done?”

And we want to let you in on a little secret — more times than not, the easier you think a transaction went, the more work your agent was doing.

A good transaction is like a duck — graceful, smooth, lithe AND churning water diligently under the surface to keep everything floating seamlessly.

We’ve spent the last decade perfecting our system of creating seamless transactions that leave our clients satisfied. Our system is founded on three key guidelines that work together to make every transaction consistently smooth.

Are you ready to learn our three C’s for a smooth transaction?

1.     Checklists

Atul Gawande’s Checklist Manifesto changed the way that hospitals worked. He brought fatalities down across all hospitals in this country with one easy change. Checklists.

Everything that we do is based on our checklists. We’ve spent years crafting these comprehensive lists that keep us on track throughout a transaction.

While there’s some original techniques on there (our pre-emptive title search and complimentary staging advice, for example), many of the tasks on these lists are based on other mega-agents around the country.

We’re constantly taking what we’ve learned from other agents and from past experiences to make every transaction even more smooth than the one before.

2.     Coordinators

When we were first starting out we handled every step of every transaction by ourselves. And this was great for awhile. We were able to learn so much by being involved with all of the different parts of a transaction. But at some point we just got too busy.

We believe in setting people up for success: our clients, our employees, and ourselves. That’s why we shifted our business to use a transaction coordinator.

Not only does a transaction coordinator mean that there’s one more set of eyes on everything that goes out (making mistakes rare), it also means that we have someone on our team who specializes in contract to close details.

By leveraging a transaction coordinator to keep the details in order, we’re free to spend our time on negotiations, helping you maximize your bottom line.

3.     Check Ins

Lastly, this is the step that sets our team truly apart. We prioritize check ins with you, our client, throughout the entire transaction.

Real estate is tricky — there’s more emotion involved than most people realize when you’re dealing with large sums of money and the place people call home.

While we’re by no means therapists, we are adept at helping you navigate the emotions that come up during a transaction and at guiding you through smart decisions.

Sometimes client’s priorities change throughout a transaction. We make it a point to educate you throughout the process and to stay abreast of your concerns and questions so that you understand your power and can create the experience you want.

When it comes down to, there’s no way to predict exactly what’s going to happen with the market or with your transaction. But you can stack the odds in your favor.

The best way to make sure that you’re setting yourself up for a seamless and smooth transaction is to work with an agent you trust.

Give us a call today to learn how we can help you find your way home.
